Nymphaea ‘Siam Blue Hardy’
Nymphaea ‘Siam Blue Hardy’ is the first DNA proven intersubgeneric (ISG) waterlily cross between Nymphaea and Brachyceras.
It was created by Pairat Songpanich of Thailand in 2007. It has purple/blue blossoms that stand high above water like Brachyceras. It’s syncarpous carpels, smooth pad edges and horizontal growth are like Nymphaea. It’s pads are green with mild flecking. The specific parentage has not yet been disclosed.

This waterlily perished in the great flood that occurred in Thailand and no longer exists.
It is still a major plant in its place in history as the 1st genetically proven ISG.
