Nymphaea ‘Midnight’

Nymphaea ‘Midnight’ is a George H. Pring waterlily. It is a double deep purple star with slightly flecked pads. It’s date of origin is 1941. It’s parentage is Nymphaea colorata x Nymphaea capensis var. zanzibariensis. It was one of the first known hybrids to have the stamen become small petals. This is a trait in many of the award winners over the last few years.
