Nymphaea calliantha Conard
Nymphaea calliantha Conard is a species waterlily from Africa. It is not as some have suggested synonymous with Nymphaea caerulea Savigny. It is a distinct species that comes true from seed. It’s seeds produce plants with flowers in a pink, light blue and purple form. It has flowers in a 4 to 6 inch size range. Held high above the water like the star waterlilies.
These are pictures of a purple form collected from southern Rhodesia.
