Nymphaea ‘Blue Cloud’ is a Ken Landon hybrid. It is a selected seedling of crosses of pre-selected seedlings of N. gigantea Hooker. It’s date of origin is 2004. It’s date of publication is 2006. It is significantly different than other giganteas in that it is a much larger flower, it has a lot of cold hardiness to it and it has double the typical gigantea petal count. It’s described as a rich violet blue on outermost and intermediate whorls and the inner whorl are bluish white with broad concave petals.

It is one of the most sought after Australian hybrids that is in existence.
