Our fourth annual International Waterlily Collection Celebration will be held on Saturday September 6th, 2008 at Civic League Park in San Angelo, Texas from 9 a.m. until noon.

Lily Fest will be hosted by San Angelo's Park & Recreation Service Area, the Council of Garden Clubs, the Tom Green County Master Gardeners, Keep San Angelo Beautiful, and supporters of the International Waterlily Collection. The event celebrates San Angelo's unique, important, and beautiful asset - the International Waterlily Collection (an IWGS Certified Nymphaea Collection).

Lily Fest activities will include a tour of the Collection by Ken Landon.
Water gardening and landscape experts were on hand to answer questions, plus vendors catering to horticulture and backyard water gardening will have tables set up with materials. There will be a number of vendors selling pictures, giving out educational material and generally aiding all in having a good time. There are usually members of retail establishments on hand in tribute to what a wonderful place Ken has created.

If you look at the New & Unnamed lilies page you will get a clue as to some of the exciting plants you can be the first to see. For those that know, we will see you there. For those that have not made the journey to San Angelo, Well you don't want to miss it so come and enjoy a fabulous showing of waterlilies and enjoy some fine Texas hospitality in the wonderful Texas Hill Country.

There will be many tropicals on display as well. The list is still being compiled as to what will be grown out. There will definitely be all of the following...

N. Ineta Ruth as well as numerous other star lilies
N. Mel Bel
N. Mindy Lynn
N. Lindsey Woods
and many, many others. As we get into late spring and plant them out the list will be updated so that visitor's will have an idea of what to expect upon a visit.
