A lotus variety

N. lotus var. dentata, (syn.N.ortgiesiana) Planchon is a variety of N. lotus Linnaeus) Willdenow .
The plants are morphologically similar to N. lotus L but ecotypically distinct.

Below is a picture of a cross between N. lotus x N. rubra.

Ken's information on this is as follows...
"The three flowers pictured below are of a plant cross made in 1978 between N. lotus and N. rubra. This lily, better than many night-blooming hybrids on today’s market is perhaps significant in that it is a direct cross of the two species. It represents a mini history lesson in hybridization of what results in such a cross of genuine species material. The cross results in identical plants pertaining to structure and morphology. The plant is very strong and a profuse bloomer.
It has no name except N. lotus x N. rubra Landon."
